PT Formado em Dança com especialização em Coreografia pela School for New Dance Development (SNDD) / de Theaterschool / Amsterdamse School voor de Kunsten, Gabriel Brito Nunes atualmente desenvolve projeto de pesquisa de mestrado na Escola de Comunicação e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo sob orientacão de Ana Maria Tavares. Estudou dança, coreografia e outras práticas corporais em Nova Iorque, Bruxelas, Amsterdã, Viena e na França com Maria La Ribot, Susan Rethorst, Rose Akras, Benoit Lachambre, Susan Klein, Barbara Mahler, David Zambrano, Chrisa Parkinson, Mark Lorimer, Janet Panetta, Hooman Sharifi, Katie Duck, dentre outros e trabalhou como intérprete sob a direção de Felix Ruckert. Sua criação artística expõe o corpo como sujeito ao mesmo tempo que objeto em intersecções de diferentes mídias das artes visuais e performáticas e seus trabalhos foram apresentados numa variedade de espaços e teatros em países como Alemanha, Holanda e Espanha.
EN Gabriel Brito Nunes is a young promising artist who is now a graduate of the four-year Bachelor Degree of Dance (Bda) Choreographic program offered by the School for New Dance Development (SNDD) at The Theaterschool, Amsterdam School of the Arts. Gabriel’s creations are on the edge of visual art, performance, dance and theater. He combines intelligence, creativity and original ideas in a concentrated research of the media he works with. There’s a balance between reflection and physicality in his works that prevents them from being too introspective and mind focused, and generates on the other hand new ways of looking at the body and reflecting on the body in space and time. Gabriel’s work intends to bring our relation to the most tangible tool of perception and communication – the body – into a constant challenge while combining specific aspects of the performing and visual arts.
